You Don't Have to Guess Your Way Through YouTube.

You suspect YouTube could help more people discover your work.

Maybe you're not sure what to post.
Maybe you've already started a channel, but you don't know if the videos you're making are actually reaching the right people or doing anything for your business.

You've probably heard you need to post constantly, chase trends, master the algorithm, or give away everything you know for free.

Or maybe your channel has just been sitting there for a while, waiting for you to come back to it with a plan.

Wherever you're starting,
the goal IS NOT to become a professional YouTuber.

It's to make YouTube work for the business you're already building - without guessing, without chasing trends, and without giving away everything you know.

That's what we'll work on together.

You Might Be Wondering:

“I don’t have time to be making videos all the time.”

“My channel is basically dead.”

“I’m not good on camera.”

“There are already so many people teaching this… why would anyone watch me?”

Those are real concerns.
I hear them all the time.

Here’s what the "gurus" never tell you:

The Algorithm Doesn't Need You to Be an Influencer.

Most YouTube advice tells you to:
❌ Post more videos
❌ Follow random trends or go viral
❌ Compete with giant channels

That works for influencers, not for artists, makers, and teachers building a real business.
The YouTube algorithm works for you if you:
✅ Create clear videos
✅ Create clear topics
✅ Create clear signals about who your content is for

You don’t need to become a full-time YouTuber, fancy equipment, or to post constantly.
You need a simple way to make videos that help the right people find you and trust you, before they ever meet you.

YouTube Rewards Clarity!

Here’s What This Looks Like When It Actually Works

Instead of guessing what to post or trying to keep up with constant content…

You create a small collection of videos that answer real questions your ideal students are already asking.

When those videos are clear and set up correctly, YouTube starts connecting your work with people who are actively searching.

You stop trying to be seen by everyone.

You start being found by the right people.

The ones already interested in what you teach -
and much more likely to become your students.

Perfect for:

  • Quilt, craft, and art teachers building online workshops
  • Artists and makers sharing tutorials or creative processes
  • Creative business owners using video to attract customers
  • Designers and retailers who need simple, effective video marketing

That's exactly what we'll build together.

Is This Course For You?

This might be right for you if...

  • You're ready to start a channel, or you already have one that feels scattered or stuck.
  • You want more of the right people to discover your classes, patterns, products, or other offers.
  • You're not sure what kinds of videos actually make sense for your audience or business.
  • You want to understand what YouTube's analytics are telling you, without becoming obsessed with the numbers.

And if you've been wondering, "Do I have to give away everything I know for free?" we'll talk about that, too.

Meet Your Instructor: Beth Ann Williams

Beth Ann is one of a select group of creators invited into YouTube's Creator Community - a program where YouTube provides ongoing direct training, real-time updates, and support to a small number of working creators. She's also an active member of the YouTube Partner Program.

She's put that access to work. In under 18 months, Beth Ann grew her niche quilting education channel, Beth Ann Williams Quilts, to more than 9,000 subscribers inside a small, very specific niche, not a broad hobby space and has been able to use that audience strategically to grow a thriving teaching and pattern sales business.

Beth Ann brings that current, inside-the-platform knowledge together with more than 30 years of teaching experience in the creative industry. She's been teaching since 1997 as a quilting and fiber arts instructor, designer, author, and content creator, and she knows what it takes to reach and serve creative teachers and business owners specifically.

As a YouTube instructor and coach with the Academy for Virtual Teaching, Beth Ann helps you understand not just what to do on YouTube, but why it matters and how to make thoughtful decisions for your own audience and business.

"My goal isn't to give you another YouTube formula to follow. I want to help you understand the platform well enough to make thoughtful decisions for your own audience and business."

What We'll Work On Together

WEEK

01

Positioning & Channel Architecture

Tuesday, September 15 | 3:00–4:30 pm ET

Clarity for you → clarity for your channel → clarity for YouTube

We'll start with the foundation: who you want to reach, what you want YouTube to do for your business, and how your channel can communicate that clearly.

You'll evaluate the signals your channel is already sending, strengthen your positioning, and organize your channel so viewers can more easily understand what you offer and find the content that's most relevant to them.

WEEK

02

Content Strategy & Intent Mapping

Tuesday, September 22 | 3:00–4:30 pm ET

From ideas to clear, strategic content direction

Next, we'll explore what to publish and why. You'll learn how to identify topics that align with your audience and business goals, explore what your potential viewers are looking for, and begin building a bank of video ideas that makes sense for your channel.

Rather than chasing random ideas or trends, you'll develop a more intentional approach to content that can attract and serve the people you most want to reach.

WEEK

03

Implementation & Application

Tuesday, September 29 | 3:00–4:30 pm ET

Time to put the foundation to work

No new lessons this week.

Instead, you'll have dedicated time to apply what you've learned to your own channel and content direction. We'll still meet live, so you can bring your questions, talk through decisions, get feedback, and work through anything that's getting in your way before we move forward.

WEEK

04

Execution: Video Planning & Packaging

Tuesday, October 6 | 3:00–4:30 pm ET

Turn your strategic direction into focused individual videos

Once your foundation and content direction are in place, we'll turn our attention to individual videos.

You'll learn practical approaches for planning educational content, shaping videos around viewer intent, writing stronger titles and descriptions, and using your packaging and upload process to send clear signals about what each video offers and who it's for.

You'll also receive practical checklists you can use again as you continue creating new videos.

WEEK

05

Understanding Analytics & Sustainable Systems

Tuesday, October 13 | 3:00–4:30 pm ET

Learn from what happens and adjust your approach as you go

YouTube analytics can provide useful information without becoming another set of numbers to obsess over. We'll look at signals that can help you understand how viewers are finding and responding to your videos, including the basics of click-through rate, viewer retention, and other useful performance indicators.

We'll also explore sustainable ways to continue building your channel, including developing a realistic publishing rhythm, capturing future content ideas, and creating pathways that can help interested viewers continue their relationship with you beyond YouTube.

WRAP
SESSION

Bonus Checklists & Next Steps

Friday, October 16 | 3:00–4:30 pm ET

We'll bring the pieces together with printable resources designed to make it easier to continue applying what you've learned after the course ends.

Live sessions are scheduled for 90 minutes.
When time and schedules allow, Beth Ann may stay a little longer to answer additional questions.

What Will You Leave With?

A MasterY OF Your YouTube Identity

You'll have greater clarity about whom you want to reach, what role YouTube can play in your business, and how your channel communicates that.

Build a strong foundation for your channel.

✅ Define your audience
✅ Align your teaching expertise with what viewers are searching for
✅ Attract exactly the right viewers for your business

a Clear Content Strategy

Instead of wondering what to post next, you'll have a more intentional way to identify and evaluate ideas for your own audience and goals.

✅ Map your viewers’ real questions into video topics
✅  Build a simple “content wall” that guides your channel growth
✅  Write titles that earn clicks and keep viewers watching

a Sustainable Publishing System

✅ Simple ways to turn viewers into subscribers and workshop students

Most importantly,
you'll understand more about what you're doing,
why you're doing it,
and how to make thoughtful YouTube decisions
that bring your audience into your creative business.

You Can Reach a Global Audience With Videos You Are Proud to Share.

Your audience is already searching YouTube for ideas, inspiration, and creative techniques.
The videos that perform best in the creative space aren’t complicated productions.
They’re simple, authentic demonstrations where viewers can clearly see:

• how you work
• how you approach creative problems
• how ideas become finished pieces

These kinds of videos are exactly what YouTube’s search system serves to new viewers.

When your videos clearly show what you make and who it’s for, the platform can start recommending your channel to the right audience.

You don’t need studio-level production. You need clarity, consistency, and the right content strategy.
That’s exactly what this course will help you build.

A Few Questions You Might Have

No. We'll begin with the foundation of your channel — including whom you want to reach, what you want YouTube to do for your business, and how to communicate that clearly.

Yes. Some participants come in with channels they've been using for years. You'll be able to evaluate what you're already doing and make more intentional decisions going forward.

You don't need millions of subscribers. A small, targeted channel with 100–500 engaged viewers can generate consistent workshop enrollments.

You don't need to be a charismatic performer. You can use screen recordings, demonstrations, or behind-the-scenes footage. Your expertise matters more than polish.

It's not required, since different people are in different places in their YouTube journey.

This course focuses on the strategy behind successful YouTube channels, so your videos attract the right viewers and grow your audience.
You'll learn how to: Choose the right video topics, package your videos so people click, and help YouTube understand who your content is for.
The Academy for Virtual Teaching has other courses to help you learn very simple filming and editing techniques with simple tools (your phone!)

No. We'll look at ways free content can genuinely serve your audience while your paid classes, products, patterns, and other offers provide meaningful opportunities to go deeper.

All sessions are recorded and added to your dashboard, so you'll never miss a thing. You can watch anytime, on your own schedule.

You'll have access to the course materials for 1 year from your enrollment date. That gives you plenty of time to watch live sessions, rewatch replays, and work through the content at your own pace.

Ready to Use YouTube With Greater Clarity and Purpose?

You don't need to know everything about YouTube before you begin.

And you don't need to build your business around becoming a YouTuber.

You need a clearer understanding of who you're trying to reach, what you're trying to accomplish, and how YouTube can support the creative business you're already building.

If that sounds like the kind of help you've been looking for, I'd love to have you join us.
