"I've only sent out the first of three emails to my list and already have paid enrollments!

The messaging was so much better - I got a 63% open rate on that first email!

I'm not even holding my first zoom for another month!"

THE WORKSHOP THAT HASN'T LAUNCHED YET

You've been carrying this workshop idea around for a while.

You've thought about it. You've planned it (mostly in your head).
You know there are people who'd love it.
But somewhere between "I should teach this" and actually doing it, you got stuck.

  • You don't know where to start, so you don't.
  • You don't have a big email list or website, and the whole launch process feels like a mountain.
  • You're worried about building the wrong thing — so you build nothing.
  • You keep telling yourself "someday." And someday keeps moving.

Meanwhile, the people who'd love what you teach are still out there. Still waiting.

A DIFFERENT WAY TO LAUNCH

Here's what most teachers get wrong about launching.

The traditional launch goes like this: spend months building a workshop.
Record videos. Design slides. Write lessons.
Then try to find students.

Most of those workshops never sell.

Smart teachers do it the other way around: open enrollment first.
Build the workshop with the students you've already enrolled.

That's what this Lab walks you through. In three weeks, you'll:

  • Validate your workshop idea through real conversations — not guesswork
  • Write your sales page, email sequence, and social posts with templates and swipe files
  • Open enrollment and welcome paying students
  • Hear those students' real questions, hopes, and sticking points before you build a single lesson

You walk away with paid seats, a working sales system, and a workshop you know your students actually want — because they told you.

THE PATH

Your 3-Week Launch Path

Each week ends with something tangible in your hands — not just "completed lessons." Here's what you'll have by the end of each one.

01

week one

Plan and Validate

By the end of this week, you'll have a clear workshop offer, a defined ideal student, and a draft sales page in progress. You'll know exactly what you're selling, to whom, and why they need it now.

Includes a live kickoff coaching call

02

week two

Build Your Marketing System

By the end of this week, your sales page is written, your messaging is dialed in, and your registration system is tested and ready. You'll have real feedback from warm leads — and a launch plan that's grounded in what your audience actually wants.

Includes a live midpoint coaching call

03

week three

Set Your Outreach System in Motion

This is the week you go live. Your emails go out, your social posts roll, your sales page opens. By the end, you'll have onboarded paying students into your next workshop — and you'll be ready to deliver it with their input.

04

week four

Open Enrollment

A bonus week of community support to prep for delivery, debrief your launch, and celebrate alongside your cohort.

Includes a live final coaching and celebration call

IS THIS FOR ME?

This is for you if…

  • You're an artist, crafter, quilter, or maker with a workshop idea waiting for "the right time."

  • You want to earn income from your knowledge and creativity.

  • You're new to teaching online, or launching a fresh offer.

  • You're already comfortable on Zoom or recording tutorials — you just need the structure and the deadline to finally launch.

  • You're tired of "someday" and ready to get it done.

MEET YOUR MENTOR

Lyric Montgomery Kinard

Hi, I'm Lyric.

For decades, I've taught creative workshops to thousands of students around the world, both in person and online.

I've launched dozens of successful courses in quilting, surface design, and fiber arts. And through the Academy for Virtual Teaching, I've helped hundreds of other creative teachers bring their workshops online.

Along the way, I learned something most launch advice misses: the hardest part isn't building the course. It's knowing how to invite students in.

That's what this Lab is about. You don't need a finished workshop. You don't need a big email list. You just need your skills, your voice, and a plan.

I'll walk with you through every step.

Each daily step (weekdays for 3 weeks) includes an action that takes 20–30 minutes. You can do it in your morning coffee time or during lunch. And if life gets in the way? You’ll have lifetime access to catch up later.

All lessons are recorded and added to your dashboard, so you’ll never miss a thing. You can watch anytime, on your own schedule.

That’s exactly where we start. Week 1 helps you define your audience, your student's transformation, and the promise of your workshop. You’ll come out of those first few days with clarity and confidence about what you’re offering.

Great! This is actually the perfect way to start. We’ll show you how to reach out to a small audience (even just 5–10 people), price your offer, and find your first beta students. You don’t need a crowd—you need a connection.

Yes! We’ll host a live kickoff call and a wrap-up session to celebrate and connect. You’ll also have access to a private, distraction-free community space (not on Facebook!) where you can ask questions, share wins, and get support anytime.

Rewatch lessons, refresh your skills, and learn at your own pace. Anytime. You'll have access to the course as long as the Academy for Virtual Teaching exists.

No. This is not about making slides or recording content. It’s a launch challenge—you’ll get your workshop into the world, with paying students, before building the content. (Then you’ll deliver it with your students, not for them.)

Lyric will be creating her demo course on the Zenler platform but she encourages you to use whatever platforms you already have in place. Zenler is an all-in-one platform that can fill all your needs if you are a new online teacher and has a 30-day free trial period.

No. It’s for all visual educators. If you teach through hands-on demos (fiber art, painting, sculpture, etc.), this is made for you.

Try the first week risk free.
Complete the Week 1 tasks.
If you do not feel confident in your pre sell plan, email support within 7 days for a full refund.

You’ve Waited Long Enough.

YOUR STUDENTS NEED YOU!

Let’s get your beautiful gifts out there!
